    Default Some questions about cowpatty and hashtables

    Hey guys,

    i´ve downloaded the big hash table

    now i have read somewhere else that cowpatty only crack WPA TKIP?

    is this right?

    Can someone explain me how to use the hash tables and cow patty?

    coWPAtty is designed to audit the pre-shared key (PSK) selection for WPA networks based on the TKIP protocol.

    on a side note, thanks for posting the link. I had trouble trying to find that torrent.

    out of curiosity, how long did it take you to download?

    He was just asking about it yesterday. I seriously doubt he downloaded a 33-40 gig torrent overnight.

    Hmmmm so lets say he has a 10Mbit connection That's 1.25MB/Sec MAX

    33.54GB = 34,365.44MB

    34,365.44 / 1.25 = 27,492.352sec = 458.20586666min = 7.63676444433333Hrs

    Assuming he can find enough good sources to saturate his 10Mbit connection.

    It's much more likely that he gets 3Mbit service/performance (or worse) and it takes more like ~25.5Hrs (or likely even more).

    Though wonders never cease so maybe he has some uber connection.

    Confirmed from RenderMan himself ...(the guy who helped make that great hash table)..

    WPA2 with AES...NO!! WILL NOT WORK with cowpatty.
    WPA = YES
    WPA2 Tkip = YES

    use airolib-ng and aircrack instead (See my Video in the tutorial section)...you can use that 30gig hash table in aircrack-ng.

    6:07:22 back when it was full of seeders.

    On another note has anyone successfully untar'd particular folders and files and not the full 33+GB? BTW its even more fun watching it decompress twice.

    Solution for a simple explanation check out this thread.
