The upgrade wipes out ALL drivers even my cat5/ethernet driver so I'm sure thats his problem.
Also, I have a wired LAN cable internet.

Also, what exactly does the wlassistant pkg do? is this for wireless LAN's
Its a GUI for connecting to wireless networks. Linux connection is generally done from the command line and the wlan ass. makes a easier transition for people more familiar with windows
It should also be mentioned that wlassistant is very buggy and should only be used when you really cannot do it manually, a skill that should be worked on so you can.
So basically what I need to do is install the driver.
Where would the driver information be located on my HDD installed BT2 for my Intel 82801DB PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller? (Prior to the Slackware 12 upgrade.)
Everything goes great up until I install the new packages.
Then when I try to connect with a browser (or do a netstat, ifconfig) it says I don't have a connection.
Obviously you can tell I haven't used linux very long![]()
Is the driver info located somewhere in the /ETC folder?
Com'on FockeWulf it was right at the start of the tut
Google it you should be able to find themOriginally Posted by Dr_GrEeN
