Default Advice Wanted On Loading Programs. Files Into BT5

I have yesterday installed BT 5 r2 32bit in Virtual Box on my net-book. As a noob I am at a loss to know how to upload/transfer programs or files into BT. I tried to access them from my computer's desktop but just got a msg saying file/directory does not exist. So I guess there's a method to import/export files, programs etc into BT5?

I had seen somewhere on You Tube that you could not however do that if running BT inside a VM.

Can somebody please help? Thanks. Doc Strange

    hi
    if can help you!!!
have you install a guest additions in your VM?
with this you have a ""shared_folder"" options activate !!

    in "host-machine" my is win7

    A) create a folder to be allocated to virtual machines ( my is called "virtual" and is locate on windows-desktop)
    B) open virtualbox > select my bt5-r3>settings>shared-folder> add..."virtual"..locate in my win-desktop && ACTIVATE only auto-mount && OK
    C)fireup my bt5-r3 (my-virtualbox is 4.2.6)
    D)open terminal & type apt-get update
    E)type in terminal
    prepare-kernel-sources (press-enter)
    cd /usr/src/linux (press-enter)
    cp -rf include/generated/* include/linux/ (press-enter)

F)in the frame of "virtualbox" >> devices> install guest additions.....when the ""guest-addintions-disk"" is mounted "run" the script VBoxLinuxAdditions.run in terminal with : sh VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
G)when fishished with no error (in my case) reboot a VM ...&& after restarting my "shared-folder called virtual" is locate in /media/sf_virtual

    hi
    if I understand it
the files inside the "" "" shared_folder "" "" you can put them when you want .. before, after, during..

My kind friend when I entered into the terminal of BT5 the following:

    prepare-kernel-sources (press-enter)

there was a number of error/failing messages appeared before the root@bt prompt reappeared

I then typed in and entered:

    cd /usr/src/linux (press-enter)

that resulted in a blue colored message saying /usr/src/linux#

    When I entered cp -rf include/generated/* include/linux/

that also that resulted in a blue colored message saying /usr/src/linux#

There is something I am not following correctly? Or some technical issue? Regards, Doc Strange
