Connect to Wireless Network, no internet connection

Could you post the piece of hardware you are using as to wifi as well as module loaded by kernel being used to drive that wifi card (driver)?

I'm on a Toshiba NB255

From lshw:
My wireless device is a AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) made by Atheros Communications inc.

From airmon-ng:
Chipset is Atheros AR9285, Driver is "ath9k - [phy0]"

Note: From my Ubuntu partition I can ping and traceroute to google etc successfully, but not from BackTrack. This makes it less likely to be a network/router issue. (How) Should I try different drivers?

Have you tried DVD live?...Try it first and the, if still the same issue, you might want to try the network-manager instead..See If it works..

But try first the DVD live...If it works, then you might want to reinstall BT5, and I would strongly suggest to delete partition and create a new one..Use manual installation when installing BT5..

dhclient asks the router for some information (dhclient.conf), then dhcp server sends package with info, dhclient accept them and sends back the package, then dhcp server OFFERS a valid IP...You can see all that when running "dhclient wlan0, take a close look at all DCHP PACK, DCHP OFFER, etc that shows on your screen.

Once valid ip, you must have access to lan and connected to router.

But if router or any app in your computer has port 80 blocked, you won't have internet access. Make sure the /etc/resolv.conf has the DNS info...Please post it. Also post the router ip (10.0.0.1, 192.168.0.1, etc).

Also post the dhclient.conf

Sorry, but I'm in my debian now and /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf is the location but in BT5 I belive it's under /etc/dhcp3/, or use locate to search for it: locate dhclient.conf
