how to save backtrack 5 progress

this might sound like a stupid question but i am running bt5 on virtual box, and whenever i start it everything goes well, i can download files etc. but whenever i exit backtrack and go back to windows or restart my computer, i open backtrack again and everything i did is now gone, so it basically deletes everything upon exit. PLS HELP!!

Have you installed Backtrack inside VirtualBox or just booting of the ISO ?

That's probably an ISO, Virtual Box, or either booting from a USB (pendrive), try booting your backtrack, and installing it somewhere(not on your windos partition of course), and see if it works.
