Thanks alot for the great tut Xploits !

It has achieved it's goal as a complete linux / aircrack n00b used it to successfully crack wep for the first time =)

Though I couldn't use the packet injecton part as i've got a crappy dell 1390 internal network card which is broadcom chipset.

I'm getting a Atheros AR5800 802.11n 300mbps mini pci express card which should do the trick in the future though.

Do you know if that card is ok for cracking wep /wpa / wpa2 with injection ?

It should be yes, broadcom is absolute crap. you will be able to do all wep/wpa/wpa+wpa2 etc.... with an atheros card............ as long as you follow all the tutorials correctly

for mac changer you should be able to with
macchanger --mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 (your card here) but you need to STOP the card 1st

when the AP doesnt show ESSID you can still
crack it because as soon as we authenticate with it
it will show up beside your station, it only shows hidden <length=7> because it hidden to everyday users try it & you'll see it works, This should help explain
