Default VNC Remote server not working...

Hey guys, sorry to have post another thread again, I tried searching but since "VNC" is too short to be included in the search.

Now I can connect my SSH server but not to VNC.

I have no idea what this could be, does anyone know what this could be?

I do go and start the "VNC server service" then enter my password.

I use tightvnc-1.3.9_x86 to try connect from my windows machine.

It just says failed to connect to server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

You are on the live cd or did you install on HD.

You can check logs on server side to see what happen.

You can also search on the forum or the wiki for VNC server.

Try launching the server from a terminal to see output.

Let us know if it helps.

I'm running from the live CD.

I launched it from the the menu, how do I do this from the terminal?

Sorry, excuse the "noobness" I'm still learning.

    Hi,

Try going through the KDE route, under 'Start -> System -> krfb' then configure it to allow remote connections.

    And it should be fine.

Thank you Aze, it works. Now I can remote connect from my Windows PC.
