tl;dr: When I start networking it shows networking stop/waiting and I'm not using any Virtual Machine. Device is listed under lsusb and ifconfig.

I downloaded Backtrack 5 R3 and whenever I connect my Alfa AWUS036NH wireless adapter, or use my laptops integrated wireless, and start networking it just says network stop/waiting.

I can set the device into monitor and crack networks normally, but just the internet doesn't work. I've researched articles but they are all regarding VMWare issues, I have BT installed on a USB stick.
