help installing backtrack 5 r3 to my HD

hey guys im new to here and i love backtrack for pen testing..
i want to install backtrack to my HD but i still want to use windows 7 that is my default os on my pc

so the problem is im scard if i click erase and use the entire disk

is that option will delete my windows 7

and when i try to install it using the other option it tells me

erron 28 < this error is when i dont have space on device / partitions

so how can i increase the size of the partitioners ?

and im using usb live install method

so if there is anyway to install backtrack 5 r13 to my HD (meaning like how i use windows normally )
please tell me guys im tired of searching

Let me clarify a few things.... DO NOT EVER erase and use back track as a main OS... You will LOOSE ur windows......
Now, if you tell me all about your system, I will tell you step by step how to dual boot and keep your windows OS without incedent..
there is no such thing as TO MUCH information to give... the more you give me the more I can be of service to you.
I need to know:
Type of computer
HD size
RAM Capacity
CPU type and CPU Speed
give me this all this info, and i will tell you step by step how to install them side by side and not harm your main OS and you will retain the choice at start-up to which system to boot.
Also, which BT did you download? also, is your main system a 32 or 64 bit system? Which ever it is, will be the same for the Backtrack you need to download... So if your system is a 64 bit Windows, so should be Backtrack.
I suggest to have BT 5 R3, 64-bit Gnome (or 32-bit if its what ur system is)
Make sure to answer these and I will tell you.
I would suggest to use a USB to install BT to your HD. If you have a 4GB USB flash card, let me know and I will tell you the fastest and safest way to install it.
Note: You can burn it to a disc also and install it. It all ends up being the same, but its just the media used to install is a little different.

If its a cd, then you'll have to hit F2 to get to your boot option so you can change the boot menu so it reads the CD first or change it to USB to get it to boot from USB first.

Its very very simple actually first do apt-get install gparted.

Make sure the windows partition is NOT mounted.

Resize it to something your comfortable with.

Now do the install and select custom, then install to the freespace.
