    i can see a AP in kismet/airodump but not in the wireless assistant (how can that be ??)

    i can connect to an AP with Wlanassistant...can that also be done with commands in the console ??
    i DON'T USE WLANASST...i always USE THE COMMAND LINE and the COMMAND LINE ONLY ...no Wlanasstiant at all..

    The reason wlanasst or any other windows setup cant see them is because their not configured to see hidden essid's...the way they see it is that if you have hidden your AP (cloaked it)..then you ought to know what your ESSID (Networks name )is...I believe.

    -1 indicates a driver limitation or the fact that prism headers are actually disabled...........
    have a look to ur iwpriv

    or update ur driver.......

    as xploitz i never use wlanassistant......

    Yes, you can find several tutorials covering all types of OPEN, WEP, WPA and WPA2 here.
