    Default Boot menu problem

Installed BT5 R3 Gnome persistent on a USB stick using UnetBootIn.
Tryed it on a Vaio and a Toshiba Sattelite pro l830.
I only have the option default(weird) and theres a timer of 10 s that even if i let it countdown, after 0 it just starts all over again.
Pressing tab gives me the option to put in some commands but whatever i type it just goes back to default with 10 s countdown.
I deleted the text and pressed enter(the same thing happened by pressing Escape)which brought me to boot:
here i typed login, root, toor, startx, shutdown, restart; nothing seemed to work.

    Any help please?
