I Can't login my backtrack after update

Hi! I updated my backtrack from control panel and when I restarted it showed me password screen. It won't to accept root and toor.



I chose console login but I cross this strange screen.



I run on vmware I had backtrack rc1.
Is this update will upgrade me to rc3 or just software update?
What shall I do to upgrade to rc3?
Please help me?

KDE version?...You might want to re-install BT5 and please, try to avoid KDE version upgrade, unless you know very good what you are doing and recheck the sorces.list....There are some posts about the same problem as to BT5 KDE version upgrade is concerned.

As far as I know, the wiki offers an upgrade from r2 to r3 but not from r1...So my advice is to do it as the wiki states it. Either download rc2 or in such case, you better download r3.

If you want to try upgrading from r1 to r3 using the link above, do it and see what happens..It might or might not work..But defenetly you need to reinstall BT5 the way it is now.

uhhh have you tried Root as the username and Toor as the password i had something similar to this what provide might help or give you and idea

I tried creating a new username and password with useradd but it wouldnt work either.

You have created an abortion. Reinstall Backtrack. Go to Settings >>System Settings >>Add and remove software >> Settings >>Edit software sources >> Updates>> Show new distribution releases >Toggle to NEVER.

i HAVE SAME PROBLEM:I have instaled 2 OS
1 Backtrack 5 R3 and
Ubuntu 12
each one have diferent partition.If i want start BT 5 R3 i'm asked each time about password .
Never during the instalation BT5 ask me about user and password.Right when i 'v instaled Ubunta i was asked about user+pass.How can solve this problem?
