Problem with sound device

Whenever I try to call someone using the Skype that is in BT2, I get the message "Problems with sound device." I hear audio from other applications without problems. I have compiled the newest alsa-driver alsa-libs and alsa-utils. Skype works fine in other linux distros on the computer. How can I debug this problem?
