Hi, I assume you have an Intel graphic card, identified by lspci as something like this:
If this is the case, edit /etc/modules and add:00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
Save the file and reboot the system. Next time when X starts, you should be able to switch between screen resolutions. The default resolution should be the best one which is supported by your display and video card ..Code:#added for native resolution i915 modeset=1
The solution above has been succesfully tested and currently working on my system(bt5r2 64bit kde on Thinkpad T420 laptop).
