Beginner Troubles Installing BT 5 box with Radeon HD6450

Hello,

Could use a little help. I'm trying to install BackTrack 5 on my Dell Inspiron which has a Radeon HD6450 Graphic card. Everything seems to go well during the install process, but at the end of the installation all I see is what looks similar to television static - only multi-colored. I never get to a desktop. What do I need to try?

are you able to login?..

If so, please do not startx the BT5, instead work in text mode and type: lspci | grep -i vga

Pleased post the output....

If not able to login, use liveDVD, open up a terminal and type as instructed above, please.

Need to know the chipset and see if supported..

You might want to use the open driver with microcode or ATI propietary driver.
