Default Problems on MBP booting from DVD using TL-WN722N

    Hi,

I have some problems getting TP-LINK TL-WN722N running on a MBP when booting BACKTRACK 5 from a DVD or using VirtualBox. The odd thing is that i booted the same DVD on an old windows laptop and the TP-LINK was natively supported and I could fully use it.

Im not able to get it running on the MBP, its not showing under WLAN0 or similar, Im only getting ETH0 interface working.

Any suggestions ? Im sure its something stupid Im missing

    Thx in advance

    this is in VIRTUALBOX :

VirtualBox guest additions are installed. usb device is of course activated.

    output of basic commands :

    iwconfig :
    Code:
    root@bt:~# iwconfig
    lo no wireless extensions.

    eth0 no wireless extensions.
    ifconfig :
    Code:
    root@bt:~# ifconfig
    eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:27:ac:09:a6
              inet addr:10.0.2.15 Bcast:10.0.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

    lo Link encap:Local Loopback
              inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
              inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host

              RX bytes:1145 (1.1 KB) TX bytes:1145 (1.1 KB)
    airmong-ng
    Code:
    root@bt:~# airmon-ng

    Interface	Chipset Driver
Output when booting from DVD is the same. As I said before I am able to boot on a windows laptop and everything works right out of the box... Are there any driver issues with MBP ?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im also having the same issues on MBA running mountain lion and VBox 4.2.6 r82870.

I also installed Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.2.6-82870.vbox-extpack as it says that it enables better communication for usb2 devices but it has not changed anything.

Having run dmseg command in terminal I get the error code ath9k_htc: probe of 1-1:1.0 failed with error code -22.

I'm going to keep working on it but if anybody figures it out first please let me know!
