Didi you started networking services?.../etc/init.d/wicd start
Then try to asociate to an AP or Router..
Just installed Backtrack 5r3 to the harddrive of a Samsung NP520U4C-A01UB, with an Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 wireless card, but I can't seem to get it working. After iwconfig, I get the following:
In the Wicd Network Manager, the network tab displays "No wireless networks found." Under the preferences tab, in the general settings tab, the wireless interface is listed as wlan0.Code:lo no wireless extensions wlan0 IEEE 802.11ABGN ESSID:off/any Mode:Managed Access Point: Not -Associated Tx-Power0 dBM Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off eth0 no wireless extensions
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am afriad that that card doesn't work. Tell intel to fix their drivers for linux. You can find what seems to be a page of theirs here.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...eng&iid=dc_rss
NOTE: Links for that site don't work :|....
You might want to either buy a USB wifi card Like usb alfa, usb gsky, etc... I believe you have a mini pci express slot that I am sure you can change out to another card to Atheros AR5B95 AR9285 Half mini pci. Which you can just ebay, I have seen them around for 5 dollars. When you search in ebay just type it in like this "Atheros Half mini pci wifi" without the quotes. Just search for the drivers before you buy, but I have yet to see atheros wifi have any problems with linux.
Hope that helps...
Reading is the first step to education, critical thinking is a whole 'nother matter
Your card is supported using the linux free drivers, download the iwlwifi from here: http://mmc.geofisica.unam.mx/debian/...mware-nonfree/
The driver is firmware-iwlwifi_0.36_all.deb just install it, it is a firmware. Read here: http://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi at the "wheezy" section, with kernels 3.2.0 and avobe (the case of BT5r3), the list, your chipset is there..
The propietary drivers might not work. Always try to use first the free drivers then if they do not work use the propietary ones.
Luck.
