Default wow. i'm such a noob, please help.

ok, so i have a vista laptop, i burned the BT2 disc, put it in, restarted, and the screen i get says " boot: "
anything i type here comes up as kernel not found (or something similair, can't remember the exact wording). if i leave it at that screen it starts loading vmlinuz, but eventually freezes at an all black screen.

please help me. i have never used linux before and i can't find any one else having this problem...

It could be your CD. Maybe try a different computer to check if it does the same thing. After that try burning a new cd.

    Default autoloading

You are new to Linux and it is generally recommended that you use an easier platform to gain experience. Suggestions are ubuntu or knoppix or Mandrake.

There is an intentional delay at bootup to allow the input of parameters which impact on the kernel. The delay is minimal and loading should continue normally after a short time.

Once you gain experience and wish to continue with specialist matters please re-subscribe to the forum at that time.
