Default Live CD gets stuck when booting

When ever i try an run the live cd it stalls at one point or another. Sometimes its at my network adapter sometimes its at the floppy device/drive.

I've ran and installed bt2 on a laptop from the same CD so im quite sure the CD is fine. Just incase, i burned bt2final.iso at the slowest possible speed(8x i believe) but this hasnt made any difference.
I have no idea what to do.
    Has anyone experienced this?

Clean that laser eye on you pc thats having trouble reading it. That may help since you know the CD is good. Your lasers eye could be getting ready to go out..need readjusting..or just a good cleaning.

    See if that helps.

    Your kidding right?

They sell a cd with cotton tips on it that you put alcohol on and it cleans your lens...or you take it apart and clean it with a cotton swab. But you said its new right??

All I can say is to try to re-download BT2 Final..don't use a download manager..and burn it with Nero.

Alcohol and nero and a few others don't actually burn cd's properly, try imgburn and the problems usually disappear.

If you use a download manager ..theres a good chance that the MD5 Checksums won't match. There could be a lag in the download that would partially corrupt your download...POSSIBLY..not always. Just using 1 HTTP connection is suggested to eliminate this possibility.

Nothings wrong with Alcohol. I use it "occasionally" I just prefer Nero over all burning software.

Nero has never given me problems. Been using it for over 7 years now. I use it to burn PS2 games on my modded PS2...and videos..software..ISO's..UDF's...etc. Never even heard of imgburn before.

    thanks to both answers.

This imgburn look quite nice at first glance...........an further...........
Ill try and burn it with imgburn BUT should i select the lowest write speed possible? AUTO? Can one of you tell me WHY burning at slower speeds can somehow increase the chances of the CD working/working better.?

It reduces the risks of errors, and you get a better physical burn of the data on the disk.
