Need more info as to wifi card used (Model and CHIPSET), module loaded by kernel and authentication used (WPA, WPA2, WEP), HD, VMWare, VirtualBox, USB install?
Hi, I've been having problems with WICD. It randomly disconnects and doesn't auto-reconnect even though I have auto-reconnect enabled:wicd.png
I was wondering how to fix this. I use BT5R3 32bit KDE. I would put the log up, but I can't find it.
Thanks in advance!

Need more info as to wifi card used (Model and CHIPSET), module loaded by kernel and authentication used (WPA, WPA2, WEP), HD, VMWare, VirtualBox, USB install?
I have an Atheros AR5008 Card (don't know the chipset) connecting to a WPA2 Personal network. I use a dual-booted Dell Optiplex GX270 with windows xp and BT installed. Hope this helps!
please, post output of :
1. lspci | grep -i network (at the beginning of the line you will see the pci id in format of: xx:xx.x)
2. lspci -vvs xx:xx.x (at the end of output, you will see the driver used by kernel....
try using wep authentication to see if also is having issues...
Where would I find that? Thanks for your help so far!
I tried that, but it didn't work. It seems to be a problem with how I have WICD configured or something like that
Auto-reconnect,
I have not got auto-reconnect to work on mind,But i always thought it was just bt. As for wicd it work just not auto-reconnect.
Here's the lspci outputs:

Where would the iwconfig be located? I hate how you can't search for files without looking through every folder!
