    Default Ubuntu graphics in backtrack

    Hello guys,
I use HP pavilion dv6 with graphics card:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Whistler XT [AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series]

Ok now, when I use Ubuntu, my graphics are perfect, but in backtrack its kind of ugly...
so what I want to ask is, can I apply ubuntu graphics settings, sources, packages or anything like that on backtrack again?
This might be a stupid question but I really want to know

BTW, I install the driver installer the .run one, and when I rebooted, after "startx" the screen went black... forever. :|

Backtrack wasn't made to have special effects, there may be ways or tutorials out there that could allow you to use such effects within Backtrack, however, there is a high chance you will break something.

Although this seems like a stupid question, but I don't think, I am in a virtual machine running inside it, you can also use the virtual machine

If you want a party in graphics and all that youtube "hey I have special effects in BT5" fancy things, you need "old" hardware for the support..The newer the hardware the less support they have..

This is a penetration Test OS, not a "nice and great graphics effects" software..BT5 is based in ubuntu, but is not ubuntu...I strongly advice you to keep your Ubuntu and use BT5 for pentest...

I had BT4 with Compiz and It worked due to my hardware, after a few months I uninstalled compiz, I realize I was using BT for penetration test, why would I use the compiz effects and desktop cube for penetration?..I got bored..

But now a days, you would have to read and see if hardware has High resolutions, 3D support support and then buy the hardware...

    Luck
