help setting a Airlink super g wireless Cardbus Adapter AWLC4130 in monitor mode

hi i just did my first wep key crack on my network and i had a problem i rebooted my windows then i got into the internet with the wep key but after like 20 min i got disconnected and this message appeared when i went to the properties of my wirless card "you might not be able to acces the internet or some network recources. this problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer" can someone please help me fix this problem? im using Airlink super g wireless Cardbus Adapter AWLC4130 oh and how do you take this card off of monitor mode? help is appreciated!

i no i cracked the wep key on my network with linux....backtrack 2 but im running 2 operating systems on my laptop windows and linux.....so0000 how can i fix the problem

Its the same card that I use. Great card for being so damn cheap. I have never came across this problem in windows. Have you tried to connect under Linux (BT2) with the key? Were you successful? Also..unless your using aircrack-ng on windows..your card doesn't automatically go into monitor mode in windows. Just pop your card in and out and try connecting again.

i tried to connect fromthe back track cd but i couldnt because my card wouldnt pick up any wireless networks i guess its because its in monitor mode........so i take off monitor mode by taking out the card?

In backtrack you have to manually set up your connection. Or use wireless assistant. In BT2..you won't "pick up" wireless signals unless its in monitor mode. And we only use monitor mode for cracking WEP or WPA/WPA2. You want managed mode to connect.

Manually way...

airmon-ng stop ath0
ifconfig wifi0 down
iwconfig ath0 essid Networksnamehere key XXXXXXXXXXXX
ifconfig ath0 up
dhcpcd

before you run these commands...delete the ENTIRE contents of your /etc/dhcpc folder.
