    Default New Wireless networks?

Hey, I'm in an apartment with access to a few different computers.
My own Desktop I just rebuilt and am running windows 7.
After a couple of days getting BT3 onto an external hdd I have come to the conclusion: my desktop won't run it...

But I'm currently using my roommates laptop with bt3.
In this distro I can see a network that I can't find on my windows machine.
I am assuming that bt can pick up on some networks that aren't broadcasting their SSIDs.

hmm, I wonder if this question is more oriented towards a win7 community. but, is it the case that this network is connectible by my desktop? is channel 11 some kind of cue to say that it would be much different than say, channel 6?

    Thank you for your help.

Seems like a limitation of the wifi card, maybe both cards don't support a/b/g and n. Most like ly the "new" network is a n network.
