Hello, how can I create an internet connection?
I have cable internet;my ip is static.(Must enter username and password for connection)
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.
And what else needs to be said?
I did ask this a long time ago here ; *can't post links doh*
but yet still nothing....Oh lord
Here ya go.

oh and for streaker69's that wants to get his tongue in every thread possible even if he's not helping, tonguc.wordpress.com/2006/12/27/how-to-answer-questions-the-smart-way
This thread is only going to go one way, so before it does you might want to consider this:
You've given no information in your original post that could possibly help anybody to help you out.
I'm guessing that you need to go through and configure your IP details, and point Back|Track at your default gateway. If you do then you'll find that menu option in 'K > Internet > Set IP'.
If that's not the problem then I don't know what to suggest, other than that you should think about how you normally set up and Internet connection and then read up a bit on Slax/Back|track and find out how that translates to this system.
Good luck.....
