    Default help Screen rotation on tablet

    I have been banging my head and buldozing my install several times trying to figure this out. I have a Tri boot setup (XP,BT,Ubuntu) and I am trying to get my screen rotation working. I have copied this script from the Ubuntu Forums

    #!/bin/sh
    # rotate_display.sh
    # Use xrandr & xsetwacom to rotate the display and digitiser

    x_min=0
    x_max=24700
    y_min=0
    y_max=18520

    #function ROTATE() {
    ROTATE() {
    curr=`xrandr | awk '/Current rotation/ { print $4 }'`
    case $curr in
    normal)
    CW
    ;;
    *)
    NORMAL
    ;;
    esac
    }

    #function PORTRAIT() {
    PORTRAIT() {
    #xsetwacom set eraser BottomX $x_max
    #xsetwacom set eraser BottomY $y_max
    echo portrait
    }

    #function LANDSCAPE() {
    LANDSCAPE() {
    #xsetwacom set eraser BottomX $y_max
    #xsetwacom set eraser BottomY $x_max
    echo landscape
    }

    #function NORMAL() {
    NORMAL() {
    xrandr -o normal
    xsetwacom set stylus Rotate NONE
    xsetwacom set eraser Rotate NONE
    PORTRAIT
    }

    #function CCW() {
    CCW() {
    xrandr -o left
    xsetwacom set stylus Rotate CCW
    xsetwacom set eraser Rotate CCW
    LANDSCAPE
    }

    #function CW() {
    CW() {
    xrandr -o right
    xsetwacom set stylus Rotate CW
    xsetwacom set eraser Rotate CW
    LANDSCAPE
    }

    case $1 in
    -l)
    CCW
    ;;
    -r)
    CW
    ;;
    -n)
    NORMAL
    ;;
    *)
    ROTATE
    ;;
    esac

    It has worked flawlessly in Ubuntu but in backtrack I get

    X Error of failed request: Badmatch (invalid parameter attributes)
    Major opcode of failed request: 154 (RANDR)
    Minor opcode of failed request: 2 (RRSetScreenConfig)
    Serial number of failed request: 12
    Current serial number in output stream: 12
    landscape

    I am using a Fujitsu Stylinstic 5020D ANY help would be appreciated. The stylus will rotate no problem its just the display. I checked and xrandr is on BT2. I cant figure out why it will work in ubuntu and not BT2 (slackware11)

    I have to admit im getting proficient at the reinstall procedure though

    The problem is in the command xrandr

    here is a list of tries and results

    xrandr -o left = error
    xrandr -o right =error
    xrandr -o normal = command is accepted but this is the normal view so nothing actually changes

    it appears that my installation belives rotation is impossible.
