    Lightbulb Is my WLAN card compatible?

    Hi, I am new at ethical hacking and i was recommended by someone about backtrack but is my laptop compatible to use it he also told me to check if my wlan card is compatible with backtrack but i can't find where to search for it i need help and am totally confused {my WLAN card is Dell wireless 1704}

    For a list of tested wireless cards you can read our Wiki and the Aircrack-NG website and forum, as for the rest of the hardware we have a "Working Hardware" section and a "Non working hardware" one.

    At least with my wireless cards, I've found compatibility between BT4 & BT5 the same. That is, if it worked in BT4, it works in BT5. I personally like the Alfa AWUS036H; it does monitor mode & packet injection with no problem in BT5.
    If I could figure out how to scuba dive & hack at the same time, there would be nothing I couldn't do...

    The newer the hardware the less support it has..

    Scottm99 is giving you the best choice. Always try to buy something according to the chipset..If no chipset is shown, scratch it off your list and save yourself some bucks.

    Sickness is quite clear, go to aircrack-ng web site and check compatibility..If it is old, again, no new hardware is well supported...
