BT5 R3 Package Manager??

I have just installed BT5 R3 Gnome 64 bit on a persistent USB and I have been working on getting it all setup and configured. I went looking for the package manager/software installer program and I cant seem to find it. I thought it was under system>administration but it's not there. Can someone tell me how to get to it? Or is it even available for this version of BT?

apt-get install synaptic

As Jimmy87 says, it used to be in older versions but I believe it was removed.

Once you run the command and let the install complete it should be in the usual menu place.
