Where airodump save the .ivs file on backtrack 2?

hello,
1. im a great newbie on linux, i use the backtrack 2 livecd with a netgear 511T cardbus, it works very well, i catched IVs with airodump but i don't know where is the saved file for use with aircrack?

2. I'd like save the captured file.ivs on a external hard drive while airodump is running but i don't know which linux commands i have to do?

if you just open a console it will be in /root/file.cap or file.ivs

if you use airoscript will be in /home/root

if you use one of my scripts it's always saved in a directory named with APMAC under the script directory (usually /usr:bin/scriptname/)

in console the file is in the directory from where you launched the command.........

or you can specifie a path .....

airodump-ng -c 10 -w /im/a/wannabee/wepcracker/capture rausb0
will create the file capture-01.cap in /im/a/wannabee/wepcracker/ folder

i found a file called root-01.cap and an associated .txt in the root of file://
how can i do if i want to save this file in a removal usb key in order to do a continuous capture ? because if i shut down my livecd the captured file will be lost...

mount the drive and provide the path to the drive. I hate to be cynical but people that don't even understand file paths should find a new hobby.
