I'm running Backtrack 5 R3 64 bit in a KDE environment <--(A little redundant, I know)
I have two amd hd 6000 series graphics cards which the drivers ARE installed for.
I have the cards set up to play sound over HDMI through the speakers on my monitor (This set up has always worked perfectly for me in all versions of backtrack 5 in a gnome environment)
The login sound and other notifications play perfectly fine through the monitor over HDMI however I can't play sound through my speakers, only through headphones.
at first I thought it was an issue with flash, then I thought it was an issue with firefox however I no longer believe this is so. (SIDENOTE: Flash is properly installed and working correctly)
Phonon, Alsamixer, and Kmixer all recognize the card however Kmixer and alsamixer give no configuration options for the hdmi hd generic audio devices other than s/pdif

The other sound device HD ATI SB displays properly with plenty of different configuration options
