Anyone try and make USB 3.0 boot disk?

Just wondering if anyone has tried to make a usb 3.0 boot disk... i've tried several times and it always fails to boot from 3.0 usb..

i switch it to a old usb and it boots fine!

anyone have any luck? thanks!

I don't know if this helps any as it isn't technically the same as it isn't 3.0 but anyway.

On my computer when I want to boot to USB if I use the normal boot order 1. USB, 2.CD/DVD, 3. HDD I run into trouble. However when I use the "manual" method I see that there are more that one options for which USB to choose for booting.

If I use the generic (1st in the list for me) instead of the one that has more detailed information (has the type and model number of the USB stick) then it wont work. I have to choose the second option.

I know this is an older thread and you have either likely given up by now or found your own solution elsewhere here or somewhere else but I thought I would write a possible solution to the problem fro anyone else that is having similar difficulties. Hope this helps.

This is a common problem for usb 3.0. Most BIOS/UEFIs don't have proper drivers. Just plug it into a 2.0 port

Ok so i stil in the 16 gig usb 3.0 stick into my blue 3.0 USB port on my dell i5 laptop. It boots to the prompt.. i login using toor/root

i go to start X... and BOOM fails with below errors... then i stick that same usb in a 2.0 hole in the same laptop and it boots up find... (booted lightning fast in 3.0)

it sees the "hi speed" usb drive and seems to load the drivers...

anyone have any luck with this? my laptop only has usb 3.0 ports and i'm stuck.
