Whats up people,
I am having problems with my internet connection when using wicd manager, when I try to connect to the network i get an error messege "Connection Failed: Unable to get IP Address", (just to let you know i am new to linux) i dont know for sure if my wlan chipset not been recognized is relevant with the wicd not connection with the network, so i opened a terminal and tried to see any errors with the driver for the wlan card.
code: ifconfig
iwconfigCode:ifconfig wlan0 wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 7c:4f:b5:56:34:e4:4d UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 Collisions:0 tx queuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)
of course if i typeCode:iwconfig wlan0 wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any Mode:managed Access point: not-associated Tx-power=20 dBm Retry long limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off
airmon-ng
wich if i put wlan0 on monitor mode, it will detect other networks with there BSSID and ESSID ext. anyways.. someone help.. frustrated that i cannot connect to the network. and finish updating BT5.. and if i got this all wrong let me know where i got lost or what i did not understand.. im willing to learn..Code:airmon-ng Interface Chipset Driver wlan0 Unknown rtl8192ce - (phy0)
thanks alot..
