Backtrack only taking up 1/4 of the screen,.

I just installed Backtrack 5 R3 Gnome 32bit on my other computer but it only takes up approximately 1/4 of the screen(the rest is black).

If I go to System->Preferences->Monitor it says "Monitor unknown".

So what could this be? Is this a common issue?
Could I just reconfigure X or do I need new drivers?

Without specs or additional hardware information it might be hard to offer advice however I suggest you try installing the video drivers.

The video drivers as in video drivers for my screen or as in some general video driver package that isn't installed from the start?

BT may not have the correct driver, but I was wondering the same thing.
I was using it in Windows VMware.
I kept using the "view" but it did not help.

Resetting the Monitor resolution (pull down menu) worked for me;
without loading drivers and stuff. Now BT5R3 fills the entire screen...much better!

I don't get where to reset the monitor resolution. Under System->Preferences->Monitor I don't have that option.
