I got the vmware-tools.lzm file to install by using lzm2dir and extracting it to a temp directory, then when looking in the temp directory, the files seemed to be placed relative to the root directory so I "lzm2dir vmware-tools.lzm /" Then after I rebooted, it worked perfectly.

'Cept VMWare said my tools were outdated.

why would you need a module? I click on the install tools mounted the cdrom

copied the file over unzipped and unpacked the tar compiled and ran simple and no compatibility issues?

I had the same message as you.
I found somewhere else this way to use the ati.lzm module : tar -xzvf ati.lzm to /root, then run the .sh file newly created.

Guess what : I successfully untar the module, but when trying to run the .sh I had a "Permission denied" ...

Any one has a new idea to follow the story ???

    Mast3rWurm,
This is NOT the request a tutorial forum. It's the tutorial forum. It ONLY used to post a tutorial or to ask a question about a specific tutorial...IN THAT TUTORIALS THREAD. Moving to no0bie area.
