Powerpoint Openoffice and beginner themes

Hi,

I previously used powerpoint in windows and openoffice in ubuntu(automatically installed)
What do I use in backtrack to open ppt files?

Also the toolbars in my firefox and the entire GUI is black. Is there any way I can change it?

Sorry for the elementary questions but I did try kubuntu before I came here.

For the .ppt files, try "apt-get install libreoffice"
This should install LibreOffice.

For the theme, why did you choose BackTrack if you don't want the colour?

Ok thanks. No I was asking how to change the area where you input words because it is grey in color and it is extremely hard to see.

What do you mean by choose backtrack?

Anyway, how do I open JPEG in backtrack? It defaults to firefox immediately. I wish to see the preview.

Mine shows up white. Did you change the theme?

As far as I know, reinstall. It's not really a theme.

Have you thought of dual booting with Ubuntu? Backtrack really isn't for general purpose use.
