Arrow slow pc + bt = black screen?

i tried the livecd, every went well until i type startx , the screen became black and remains that way. the hdd works in background but i can't make it turn back on.
    650mhz
    13gb
    256+128mb
    video card 32mb gfx
has any1 same prob? i use knoppix and other linux livecd and they worked fine, just the backtrack livecd shows black screen.

    - on laptop, also (don't know if it's a bug or not) if you turn the wifi card on, like usb, and unplug it while airodump , the console becomes "dead", can't write and close it. i have to unplugg the laptop's cable.
laptop works with startx but sometimes thing just freeze, usually the console craschs...

    cheers

instead of typing startx..try typing in

    xconf

hit enter...then type in startx. That xconf command "auto configures" your screen and other video/audio..etc settings. That might also help with the other problems your experiencing. You'll have to do this every time untill you do a HD install of BT2. Then only need to do xconf once..then upon reboot just type in startx. Are you willing to do a HD install or a dual boot install?

That being said, you can still see if running xconf helps you.

Yep..but since your not going to do a HD install...you'll have to type in xconf EVERY SINGLE TIME you start the live cd...or youll have to save the changes you make to a USB memory stick. shamanvirtuel has a tutorial somewhere on this site as to how to do it.
