whats the output of iwconfig? can you get online via ethernet? I'm assuming your'e using x rather than command line?
hello gyz, i am new to backtrack 5 r2.i am using dell inspiron n4050 and i dont know wether its wifi card is compatable with backtrack5 r2.as i am not an it expert so can any body give me detailed info on "how to install wifi drivers on dell inspiron n4050 ".i dont know any thing about back track else it is a security software ,,,soplease provide a complete step by step info on my question while remaining specified to my product(dell inspiron n4050)
i have tried googling and also searched on wiki but i was not able to get any thing settled in my mind

i am booting live usb through unetboot(creating a virtual usb and then booting it).......
i am able to boot in and as well as startx is working for me the problem is that i am not getting

the problem starts here . no packet data ? i have cracked wep key for 3rd essid using window 7
(common view for wifi and aircrack )
but i want to crack wap2 key ...........
i think in the first step i am not getting any chipset .........
is this the problem????????????????????????
kindly help me or any way to crack wpa 2 key on windows
