Hmm.. Wierd..
Have you tried with the GNOME iso of BackTrack?
And if the computer has less than 4GB of RAM, there is no reason of installing 64bit version, if so try with 32bit version ;-)
Hallo , Dear forum members .
I have found myself with a problem that I don't know the answer to .
So I would love some assistance & suggestions , on what to do next.
So what I did was : 'I download the ISO file from 'http://www.backtrack-linux.org/downloads/' BackTrack Version 5 R2, KDE Windows Manager and Architercture 64 bit , Download type was Direct.
After the download of the file I check the ISO on the MD5 With the tool 'hashcalc' at 'http://www.backtrack-linux.org/wiki/index.php/Downloading'
Then I burn the ISO Image with 'Ashampoo Burning Studio 11' at low speed 2.5 .
After all that I boot it on my Acer Aspire Laptop .
I boot in the Backtrack Live Environment.
At the bash prompt, I typed startx to enter the GUI.
Only problem was I get a black screen.
Doing nothing for the upcoming 30 sec or so then the computer/pc Shut-down.
I have try the same thing over a few times but I get same results I even try it on A USB-stick same story .
So I am thinking either this version I Download is something wrong with it . Or I misread something.
Because I would love to address this issues as soon as possible I posted this on the backtrack community forum. Hoping I would get some answers & suggestions .
Since I am new to backtrack . But am familiarly with Ubuntu Linux and Windows OS.
Thank you in advance!
