Unhappy Dual Boot fail, Windows 7 not loading at all!

Hi! I admit that I am a total newby at linux and backtrack, I just want to learn, so please, don't make fun of me, thanks

Now, I burned BT 5 R2 to a livecd, and I clicked on install backtrack. I passed the first keyboard screens etc... Then I chose install side-by-side...

I gave about 16GB to backtrack.

After it was finished, I clicked restart, and I accidently opened the cd drive while booting.

Now, when there is not cd in the drive, nothing happens, just a flashing _ come up on top of a black screen. And if I insert Backtrack cd, Backtrack loads up.

I don't think I have formatted it, because I can access all my files through konqueror and Dolphin.

I tried system repair from windows cd, but it does nothing (Startup fix), it just says, if you have plugged in any media, please remove. This means there were no problem it could find. But, I think I might have done something wrong, so please help me, thanks!

I'm also fairly new, but something very similar to this on my first install of MEPIS. Here is the link i used to fix my problem. If it doesn't appear as though you replaced your MBR with Grubb someone else should be able to help you a lot more. Hope this is the fix you need.

I recommend to just try reinstalling BT without opening the CD drive, You windows install should be fine, its prolly just the bootloader didnt install correctly/

I've had similar where I had windows, then installed bt but mine worked. Anyway I wanted to remove/reinstall bt after loads of messing around so I removed the bt partition from windows but then I couldn't boot.

So I booted from the windows cd, loaded recovery then command prompt.

There I used bootrec /fixmbr then bootrec /fixboot.
Then I repeated this both and rebooted.

I'm not even certain if fixmbr and fixboot are both needed and I only repeated them both again in case one fixes something that the other depends on.

This got windows loading again for me.
