So I'm in a bit of a rut. I dual-booted BackTrack 5 to my Dell Latitude D800 (With nVidia Geforce Go5200). Quickly finding out after I had installed to my hard drive, that startx returned with the common "no screens found error", I installed my nVidia Driver then rebooted and all that jazz. But now, whenever I invoke the "startx" or "xinit" command, the computer says its getting stuff from the hard drive, then starts this color test-like screen loop and justs keeps looping from white to black, to red, to green, then to blue -_-. At some point, I do get the KDE Desktop startup sound but still no avail when trying to get past this loop. I did at some point, have an error concerning APCI, but with the quick install of acpid, X11 no-longer logged such. However, still getting the rather annoying color loop. And what's still odd to my is that it worked beautifully on the Live CD, just not when I have it on the HDD.
Loggy file from /var/log/Xorg.0.log:
Xorg.0.log.txt
Note: The ddxSigGiveUp: Closing log is of my own actions, Ctrl-C....
EDIT: This is not just for BackTrack 5, it also does it on Fedora. Any idea still?
