Weird CD boot prob

Hi all.

My HDD died with my BT install so today went to boot from cd and nothing but errors, so burned a new disk just incase and same again.

Couldant get all the info written down as was pages of it but the main repeared error was

"Wrong emulation maybe a HDD fault contact vendor"
and also

"Cant assing devices retrying in 5 seconds"

Any ideas as I know the frive is fine (I have all sata drives)

If the hard drive is dead, then backtrack may not load even with the live cd as it tries to mount the hard drives during boot. Check the bt wiki. One of the sections is called "Cheats" I think, and one of the "cheats" is how to start it in forensics mode or something like that, which doesn't try to auto mount the hard drives during boot.

this is a new HDD now and is working fine thats whats so confusing

Update, Deffo seems to be something with my hard drives even though windows etc works, Could it be because they are sata? even though was never a problem before, really stuck with this so any ideas would be helpful thanks
