Default I left KDE and installed GNOME

Not sure where to post this but I just wanted to share that I left KDE and switched to GNOME because of many reasons.
I've been using Backtrack KDE version for some years til now and I can't say, KDE has a nice looking desktop and all fency stuff but it's buggy and I always had various problems with KDE version.

Sadly I couldn't suffer those problems with my copy of backtrack, so I switched to GNOME and look, all my problems are gone now
While GNOME doesn't have so nice looking desktop as KDE has, I can say that GNOME is 3 times more stable and reliable then KDE.
GNOME version of backtrack boot's up 4 times faster! then KDE.

The biggest bug with KDE is that usually KDE crushed when clicking on minimized firefox, so I was forced to restart with TURN OFF button on my laptop.
boot up takes more time to complete and when using preserved space on USB stick it doesn't boot at all (case with BT5R2). etc...etc...
(the same goes form some other linux distros)

Now by using GNOME everything works as it should.

The fact is that QT libraries are not stable as GTK+! and that's the main problem when addressing such bugs
I could write about QT, and similar for ages because I'm programer my self, but hopefully you got the point about my "disappointment" here, also I hope GNOME version of backtrack will help out other new members which have similar experience with KDE.

btw, I found a tons of articles on the net talking about war between KDE and GNOME, the fact is that "war" is still in progress... ha ha ha, I think KDE lost that war at this moment

    Thank you!

I've used both, but I prefer GNOME over KDE. Not really for a technical reason, I just like the look of GNOME better.
If I could figure out how to scuba dive & hack at the same time, there would be nothing I couldn't do...

+1 for Gnome; but for Backtrack, KDE suffices.

Same for me. In KDE I can't properly install my ati driver; in GNOME, with difficulty, I can.

I'm not keen on Gnome 3 or Unity. I wonder what the dev's are planning for the next BT?
