Default My first written Wireless attack tutorial

Hello to all Backtrack Community, over the last few months i've been learning about Network Security, mostly Wireless attacks and exploitation and i would like to release my first written Wireless Attack Tutorial.

My point is not to show that I'm an expert, which I'm not, i just want to thank the community with my work since i've learned a lot from the community because you made it possible. I hope this first independent study can help a lot of begginers as i was and learned a lot in documents like this one.

I hope i release my second independent study on Exploitation and MITM very soon.

I hope everything is alright with me posting this here since i've found here papers like this one and they were very useful.

Or you could just paste it to some sort of online medium - I'm not exactly quick to open some random PDF.

Please upload this paper in mediafire.com if possible..it is difficult to download from filefactory. Or if this .pdf is not too big then you can just attach it this forum.

    Regards

As I was going through your write-up it I was reliving my own experience. I am exactly like you. Learning from zero. Once finished reading your paper fully I will pass on my opinion.

    Many thanks

Looking at the response to this thread, I believe your tutorial is well received. And why not. I have just finished it as well. To be very honest it is very well explained particularly with screen dumps. It helps a lot to the newbie. I am by no means an expert but have paid my dues to wireless security. I have gone through this excellent resource if anyone is interested.

Now getting back to your tutorial, hats off. Thoroughly enjoyed. I wish that you had published this tutorial 6 months earlier, nah just kidding

    Well done.

N.B.: I have learned a thing or two re: pyrit from your tutorial.

Think the fact that weak passwords can be cracked is pretty much covered in his writeup...

    @ strakar,

detailed and upto date writeup, I would have put a bit more info in on the reaver attack as
some routers cannot disable the WPS functionality, also other methods of hidden SSID decloaking
are available without having clients connected.
But thats nitpicking, seems full and complete and I am sure others will benefit from it as you
benefited from the one you found previously.
