    i am sorry before, because i am just beginner
    and i wanna ask
    when i write
    # apt-get update
    and output is became

    ...
    Err http://ppa.launchpad.net lucid/main Packages
    404 Not Found
    W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/upubuntu-co...64/Packages.gz 404 Not Found

    E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

    so, what the happen?
    i don't know where the index files, what the solution??

    The repos located at that location are not there somehow, maybe not needed anymore...Some packages sometimes are moved to other sections. So you need to change the repos list and see the right location or comment the line...

    You can comment the line by typing:

    nano /etc/apt/sources.list

    Move your cursor using the arrows, get to the line with:
    deb http://ppa....... and comment it. It should look like this:
    # deb http://ppa......

    Then press Ctl+O to save, then press enter to confirm and then Ctl+x to exit...

    Re-run aptitude update...
