Backtrack KDE R5 Freezes

So I installed Backtrack onto a disc, and it worked pretty well, it's just once in awhile it would randomly freeze when I tried to open up something. It's happened with every program that i've used, even the browser and terminal. So I decided to completely install Backtrack, and when I was on a live chat, I clicked on my browser and everything froze. My mouse wouldn't move, and i couldn't do anything. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I can do to prevent this?

same problem here,everytime when i open a new terminal my desktop freeses,so i'm running bt3 64 r3 form usb,can someone finaly make a video how to fix that and post it on main page of bt?
there is a tonns of that kind of questions,but no one provide a good solution,why is that so and what to update and how,so admins please a little help here.
was using before a bt4 and never had a problems like this,why is that problem with bt5?

I had the same problem found to occur when I hovered over the taskbar on an opened application in KDE 64 bit.

Turning off desktop effects cured this.
