Help for a newbie?

I downloaded Backtrack 5 R2 KNOME from the official downloads page, i also used a program suggested by linux to install the ISO onto a memory stick because the one suggested on the installation page on this site (Unetbootin), so i used the one Linux recommended, I selected the right option for Backtrack 5 R2 and started the proccess. Once finished i restarted my computer, changed the BIOS boot options so it booted from USB first.

Then when it boots it comes up with different boot options so i chose the one it starts on, i think it is '* text'. It then changed screen and text flashes down the screen in a blackish box, too fast to read. After that it just goes to a screen with the Backtrack 5 background with nothing else on it, it just stays like this until i restart.

Ive tried it with many different versions of Backtrack 5, anyone know what im doing wrong?

nevermind, i managed to get Backtrack 5 R2 working

Just one more problem. the built in touch pad is: ELAN PS/2 Port Smart-Pad, the buttons are built into the touch pad so it is just one bit. Anyway when im using Backtrack 5 R2 Gnome, when i i try an use the mouse i have to have two fingers on the touch pad for the mouse to move as well as click which is slightly annoying. Does anyone have a solution

Yeah, buy a USB mouse. :P

You could Google around, and see if you could find a driver for Linux ;-)
