Unable to upgrade BT5 to BT5 R2

hello guys,i have a problem when try to upgrade my BT5 to BT5 R2.

i've used apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade command,then it shows like this:

and when i check the version:

it still using Kernel 2.6 (BT5)

i've reboot my computer,and then check again,and there is no changes.

then i try to update my grub information:

root@bt:~# update-grub2

there is still using kernel 2.6.38

i know there is another kernel in my BT (kernel 2.6.32-41 generic), i try to use that,but there is a problem with my wireless driver ( i used Broadcomm). So i used kernel 2.6.38 again.

i want to upgrade my BT to BT5 R2 which used Kernel 3.xx

I too have experienced a similar issue. Towards the end of the upgrade I get:

Failed to fetch http://all.repository.backtrack-linu....3-bt0_all.deb Size mismatch
Failed to fetch http://all.repository.backtrack-linu....6-bt1_all.deb Size mismatch
Failed to fetch http://all.repository.backtrack-linu....0-bt3_all.deb Size mismatch
Failed to fetch http://all.repository.backtrack-linu....0-bt1_all.deb Size mismatch
E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

Following the link I receive notification of a trojan virus detected. Either it's a false warning or perhaps as it indicates a size mismatch an actual virus that is preventing the complete set of upgrade files to be pushed. I hope someone can correct/fix the issue as I would also like to upgrade to the later kernel/applications.

If you followed the upgrade instructions (I believe they're posted on the wiki), then the upgrade should have worked properly. Have you edited your /etc/apt/sources.list file? If it's feasible, you can always backup what you need, and install BT5r2 fresh.

yeah,i add some repository for wine and gimp. and i've followed the instructions. but that time its ending a failure.

so i decide to make a fresh install of BT 5R2 and it works normally. its my method. but if there is another method maybe you can post here so others people can use the better method.
