Problem getting on the net trough wlan
Hi, i have a problem with my wireless card when im using Backtrack 2 final. Anyway. in the beta, the card wouldnt work at all but now it is working to 95%.
iwconfig wlan0 essid yadayada key 456785678998
iwconfig wlan0 ap mac adress here, is that correct?
ifconfig wlan0 up and we have green light on the card
firefox - couldnt find google.com.

somtimes on the road I run into situations where I must assign myself a ip adress and a default gateway like streaker was telling you. Can you ping google from the command line?

Then it is obvious why you cannot connect to the net
You have only done half of the commands
There are many threads and tutorials that specifically cover this, try reading a few of them and if you still are having problems, then post, giving full details including hardware, commands, errors etc.
Well i have been searching this forum even before i registered, but i didnt find anything at the time. Ill try searching again.
