the black screen Problem is back again lol

hey.

i'm useing bt5 R2 kde


my laptop acer

aspire 5742 intel core i3-380M

intel HD Graphics up to 1700

2 GB ram

i downloaded my iso file BT5 R2 KDE burned it on my usb 4GB kingston cuz i want to install it as main OS

and booted from it and it loaded and i press enter on the 1rs option in BT which is default ***************** and loading again


then the " startx " time i entered it and it goes black screen


i tried to press Tap button

and change the commands " splash thing made it nosplash " and vga=771 and 792 and 791 . modeset=1 and nomodeset all those . and i run the ubuntu screen and show me a log in screen requires password but i did't set it up yet cuz i couldn't enter and i tried the root and toor thing but also nothing

Hello there.

I got an acer aspire 4739 and also the same problem, as you.

My solution was add "i915.modeset=1" to the kernel parameters on grub.
