Firefox hangs while typing in address bar

Since I've installed BackTrack, I've got big problem with firefox. The problem is the browser hangs when I try to type URL in address bar. I start typing first letters (it shows previously visited sites) and then firefox crashes. Sometimes it just closes window, sometimes it hangs the system so I have to reset. Generally it happens several times a day.

I've got 2.0.0.5 version and several plugins.

Any ideas for that?

well why don't you use native firefox in bt it works well....personnaly i use portable version of firefox and thunderbird

AFAIK there is no pb with 2.0.0.5 under linux so......maybe it's your plugins wich are not well supported......
try to deactivate them one by one....

This is basic fault finding stuff and should be the obvious first steps that anyone would try before asking.

Remove the plugins
does that fix it, if not you have found the problem.
Add a plugin
does it still work
add another plugin
does it still work
repeat until it breaks and you have found the problem

At that moment I'm in the middle of checking all plugins and themes. I'll let you know if I find something interesting.

I guess I solved my problem. The problem was the theme I was using. I've changed it and now it seems to work fine.

i had the same problem but then i had firefox clear all info when you close it and that seemed to work
