    I explain
My labtop cd drive work's very bad , after trying 10 time i'll be able to use backtrack 2 during 3 or 4 minutes.

(don't have money to change it )

so i tryed the usb booting method
the shamanvirtuel program on a usb stick (1go)

    and an other method
copying BT 2 files from iso to usb and execute bootinst.bat

the 2 methods result to an error when booting via usb
first it's like the cd booting , I push enter and it begin loading everything to start
But during the loading an error appear

    (with the 2 method)

    *Starting USB support...
Fatal error occured - LiveData not found. Searching for BT directory.
    after the setup end

so I hope you understand my problem
and i'm sorry for my prety bad english

Sounds like you just need to wait and buy a new DVD/CD -RW drive..then try this again. Wouldn't you rather wait and have a great install??....or rush and half ass do it with methods unknown and rushed??

Also..unless you can go into your BIOS ..and select boot from USB..you won't be able to do Shamans fix I believe.

    if the 2 methods fails....i don't understand

    because
1 MD5 MUST BE OK BECAUSE MY SOFT VERIFY IT
2 THESE ERRORS ARE WELL KNOWN TO BE MD5 ERROR.....

is it an u3 key, if so remove u3 protection ?

i can't see anything further after that

post feedback if you find the error...

btw...try to not just format the key but to wipe it (write 0 all other datas before delete partition and recreate it) could be done easily via some partition software under windows

    hope helps
